I made an attempt at taking my own family pictures again, with a tripod and a timer. They never turn out the way I want them to, but they're not too bad! The kids didn't have someone standing behind the camera making a fool of themselves trying to get them to smile, which is why they don't seem too amused in some of the pics.
And I only had about 15 minutes to get the pics. So this is the result, which I guess is not too shabby:
